Safety information
Read the full product, battery and vehicle instructions. Use this jump starter only with compatible 12 V lead-acid vehicle batteries and verify polarity and vehicle grounding before connecting. Do not attempt to start a frozen, damaged or incompatible battery. Monitor operation, keep flames, smoking materials and sparks away, and provide ventilation for explosive battery gases. Wear eye protection and protective clothing, keep clean water and soap nearby, remove metal jewellery, avoid shorting terminals with tools and arrange for assistance if needed. Flush acid contamination promptly with clean running water and seek the medical or poison-control assistance specified in the battery instructions. Wash hands after handling battery materials. Keep children away from the product and small accessories. The device is not a toy and accessories may cause choking. Do not use a wet, damaged, cracked or leaking unit, power cable or clamp cable. Do not submerge it, pull the cables, dismantle, crush, modify or incinerate it. Contact NOCO if it is damaged, deformed, unusually hot or emits an odour. Keep the device away from combustible materials and battery acid, do not cover it or place a battery on it, and route cables away from fans, belts, pulleys, doors and the bonnet. Operate only from -20 to 50 degrees C and charge the internal battery only from 0 to 40 degrees C. Do not heat the unit above 60 degrees C; follow the manual storage limits and never exceed 80 degrees C. The unit is for temporary outdoor use and must be stored indoors when not in use. Keep it dry and well ventilated; IP65 protection applies only with its ports closed. The built-in lithium-ion battery must be replaced only by NOCO. Do not handle a damaged or leaking battery; send the device and battery through an appropriate battery/electronics recycling route, separately from household waste. Use a compatible charging cable and a suitable standards-compliant USB power source. Do not use damaged chargers or charge in damp conditions, provide ventilation and avoid prolonged contact with a warm adaptor. Charge the internal battery only when the device is not in use. Do not overcharge it or leave it charging for more than a week, and disconnect power sources when not required. Before use fully charge the jump starter. Turn off vehicle electrical loads and follow the vehicle-specific connection and disconnection procedure; do not connect to fuel lines, a carburettor or thin sheet metal. If the engine does not start, wait 20 to 30 seconds before another attempt. Make no more than five consecutive attempts within 15 minutes and then let the jump starter rest for 15 minutes before retrying. After the engine starts disconnect the clamps in the instructed reverse sequence and remove the jump starter. Respect the instructions for positive-ground vehicles. Manual Override is for a battery below the normal 2 V detection threshold and disables spark and reverse-polarity protections. Check polarity carefully, never touch the clamps together and seek professional help if unsure. Do not look directly into the flashlight or shine it into eyes. Strobe lighting can trigger seizures in people with photosensitive epilepsy; seek medical advice for relevant conditions. Magnets and electromagnetic fields may interfere with implanted medical devices. Consult a doctor or the device maker and stop use if interference is suspected. Power the unit off before cleaning with a soft dry cloth and keep moisture out of openings. Keep it out of explosive atmospheres and applications where a failure could cause serious injury or environmental damage. The manufacturer guide includes a California warning about potential lead and vehicle-exhaust chemical exposure and a radio-interference warning. These do not establish an EU chemical classification or shipping approval. The manufacturer states that this device is not intended for use in a commercial repair facility.
